Description
The Sealevel 7204ec low-profile PCI Express serial interface provides two serial ports configurable for RS-422 or RS-485. Each serial port features an ultra high-speed UART, flexible clock prescalar, and large 256-byte Tx/Rx FIFOs allowing the adapter to support the widest range of standard and non-standard baud rates exceeding 1 Mbps. These features make the 7204ec ideal for data-intensive applications that require reliable, ultra-fast throughput rates.
In RS-485 mode, the transmitter is automatically enabled in hardware, eliminating the need for application software control. This allows the 7204ec to be used with standard serial communications applications and removes the risk of bus contention and data corruption.
The Sealevel SeaCOM software driver and utilities make installation and operation easy using Microsoft Windows operating systems.
The 7204ec is a PCI Express X1 board compatible with any low profile PCI Express slot. If you have a standard size PCI Express slot, be sure to select the standard profile bracket. The board includes a 36-inch cable that terminates to two DB9M connectors.
Features
- Compliant with RoHS and WEEE directives
- Each port individually configurable for RS-422 or RS-485
- Electrical interface selection via on-board DIP switch with Windows device driver override
- Windows driver features software-selectable 250K slew rate limiting to minimize electromagnetic interference
- Ultra high-speed UART with 256-byte Tx and Rx FIFOs
- Each port supports data rates exceeding 1 Mbps
- Bus-derived 125 MHz BRG and clock prescalar support wide range of baud rates
- PCI Express X1 compliant
- Compatible with all low profile PCI Express slots (standard profile slots with optional bracket)
- Included 36″ cable terminates to two DB-9M connectors (Item# CA203)
