Mere information

Hioki DC resistance meters measure a broad range of resistance values at a high level of precision. The RM3543 is designed to be integrated into current sensing resistor taping machines, deliver high-accuracy measurement of super-low-resistance levels, and are advanced enough to measure 0.1 mΩ shunts with room to spare.

Key Features

  • Advanced enough to measure 0.1 mΩ shunts with room to spare at ±0.16% accuracy & 0.01μΩ resolution performance
  • Superb repeatable measurement accuracy
  • Advanced contact-check, comparator, and data export functions
  • Intuitive user interface and strong noise immunity are ideal for automated systems

A resistance tester that can measure super-low resistance values and shunt resistors

The Resistance Meter RM3543 can measure low shunt resistance values and other DC resistance values at a high accuracy of ±0.16% for 0.1 mΩ and at the high resolution* of 0.01 μΩ.
*In the 10 mΩ range, at SLOW measurement speed, and with 16 averaging iterations.

Reduce the effects of thermoelectromotive force with the offset voltage correction

Thermoelectromotive force refers to the potential difference that occurs at junctions between different metals (see figure). Specifically, the phenomenon occurs where measurement probes and measurement targets come into contact, and at connections between measuring instruments and measurement leads. The magnitude of this thermoelectromotive force varies with the temperature of the measurement environment, increasing as the temperature difference grows. The RM3543 includes an offset voltage correction function that applies the measurement current in both the positive and negative directions and then uses the resulting detected voltages to eliminate the effects of thermoelectromotive force.

Use the scaling function to correct measurements as if the target component were mounted

The RM3543’s scaling function can correct for the difference in resistance values that are obtained when testing a given component alone and when it is mounted on a circuit board (due to the factors such as the effects of probing position). This feature is useful when testing low-resistance current-sensing resistors such as shunts.

Ensure reliable contact quickly with the contact improvement function

The RM3543 improves contact with measurement specimens by eliminating oxide films and dirt between the probes and specimens. By addressing faulty contact, the instrument facilitates stable measurement and reduces the contact error rate, boosting productivity.

Using probe short detection functionality to ensure the reliability of 4-terminal measurement

The presence of any foreign material between the POT and CUR measurement probes can interfere with reliable 4-terminal connections. The RM3543 checks for probe short-circuits by measuring the resistance value between POT and CUR while measurement is not being performed.
